Mini Bernedoodle

Mini Bernedoodle Puppies Dog Breed Information

The Miniature Bernedoodle is a combination of the Miniature/Toy Poodle and the Bernese Mountain Dog. There are many advantages to crossing these dog breeds, one of which is the decreased shedding based on the presence of the Poodle. Another benefit of the Mini Bernedoodle is the decreased size compared to the Standard Bernedoodle, making it more suitable for people who want this type of dog, but do not have space for a large dog breed.

Bernedoodles Miniature tend to be calm and docile with enough energy to play or go hiking. They are happy-go-lucky dogs that are well-fit for living in small apartments. They are smaller in size, have hypoallergenic coats, exceedingly friendly with humans and other animals, and low exercise needs. The Mini Bernedoodle loves to play fetch and go for walks, but won’t suffer from being inside for a day either. Their gentle temperaments make them a great addition to the family. Mini Bernedoodles make fantastic family pets. They are non-aggressive, highly intelligent, loving, playful, fun, sweet, and enduringly loyal. Mini Bernedoodles are eager to please and very social. Additionally, because of their low prey drive, Mini Bernedoodles tend to get along very well with other companion animals, like other dogs, cats and even rabbits.

Miniature Bernedoodles are active dogs requiring a moderate amount of exercise. Despite their activity level, they are adaptable and can thrive in various living environments, including apartments or homes with small yards.

The Mini Bernedoodle should be a generally healthy dog, as long as proper attention has been paid to the health of the parents. The Bernese is known for having some health issues in regards to their joints (hips, elbows, etc), which are common in large dog breeds. The most common health problem for the Poodle is Addison’s Disease, or chronic adrenal insufficiency.

Bernedoodle Miniature will usually be quick to learn new commands and follow instructions without the need for many repetitions. Therefore, owners may find training their Mini Bernedoodle a relative breeze. Having said that, it’s still a good idea to start training your Mini Bernedoodle as soon as you get your pup home.

This dog breed will have a longer coat like the Bernese Mountain Dog and will require the coat be well maintained to avoid any matting. One of the advantages of this breed is that the shedding will be decreased by crossing the Bernese with the Poodle, but daily brushing is still recommended. You should also brush your Miniature Bernedoodle’s teeth once per week and trim their nails once a month.

Bernedoodles Miniature benefit from at least an hour of daily exercise to maintain their health and foster a strong bond with their owners. Consistent exercise is particularly crucial during puppyhood, as they require daily socialization, training, and physical activity. They delight in walks, runs, or hikes as part of their exercise routine.

Bernedoodles Miniature vary in size, typically weighing between 18-45 pounds and standing 18-22 inches at the shoulder.
